Be careful while listening to this story - this podcast is not like other podcasts. You, and you alone are in charge of what happens, and - ultimately - whether your story ends in victory or defeat.
Some Nobodies - creators of Silicon Angels, the Podcast Podcast: a Podcast Show, and Talking Upstream, among others - have hand-crafted an artisanal listening experience for you, the gentle subscriber. But take note - this is not something to listen to straight through in episode order. Instead, this story requires your attention and a guiding hand.
At the end of each episode, you’ll be presented with a choice representing each branching story decision. Depending on the path you take, this story may veer drastically or end dramatically. And based on how you play your cards, you can guide your characters to wealth and riches...or disastrous defeat and embarrassment.
It’s pretty much one of those “choose your own adventure” things, but that term is copyrighted, so we had to use all this flowery language instead.
Story 1
Appeal
You’re about to embark on Season One - a story we call Appeal. In Appeal, you are an engineer and inventor intent on removing as much indecision from your life as possible. After completing a heads-up-display which highlights the quickest route to your needs, you embark on a field test...but what happens when the technology knows what you need even better than you do? What if it tells you to walk off, into the mountains? What if it tells you what you need most is to hurt another person?
In Appeal, you play the part of the inventor about to take their new invention for its first trial run. Will you retire into a life of comfort and success? Will you descend into murder and cannibalism? Or will you wake up, only to realize you haven’t even started yet, on the day before your first field test?
When you Create Your Own Podventure, the story’s ending is up to you.
